Captain's Cocktail Reception

Last weekend a very good friend of mine from work threw a baby shower in Owen's honor.  The shower was at her house and was a co-ed shower.  This was wonderful for both of us because my office is very small and so much like a family that with half the people I work with being men, I wanted to include them in the celebration.  In addition, Jed and his friends were also able to come celebrate this very exciting time in our lives.  We both had a great time at the shower and enjoyed visiting with all our friends and neighbors who came to celebrate with us.  Plus, the food was amazing and I always love opening presents.  Below are a bunch of pictures from the evening.

These cute little tug boats were floating in the punch bowl.
They light up and make noise and I'm sure Owen
will have a blast playing with them during bath time.

The wooden signs and stuffed animals all found their way home with us.
The signs are hanging in Owen's room and the stuffed animals are
waiting to be played with in the stuffed animal bucket in Owen's room.

I had asked my mom to make this decoration for Owen's room
and she surprised us with it at the shower.  It turned out better
than I ever dreamed about.  Each nautical flag is represents
a letter of his name.  It is in the nursery hanging over his crib.

A few of the many people that came to celebrate with us.

We had a wonderful time and were so happy that so many of our friends were able to make it to celebrate with us.  We are also very grateful for their generosity in helping us fill the nursery with the many gifts they gave us.  I am sure they will all prove to be very useful in the years to come.
